2017 Ford Escape Engine

The base engine remained the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, producing 168 horsepower, suitable for everyday driving needs. A notable upgrade was the 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 179 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. This engine featured Auto Start-Stop technology, which automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stationary to conserve fuel and restarts it when the brake pedal is released.
